This guide explains how to ensure your ActivPanel touchscreen is set as your main display and that it’s duplicated with your computer’s main monitor while the overall display setup remains extended (the default Windows configuration).
Step 1: Open Display Settings
Right-click anywhere on your desktop.
Select “Display Settings” from the menu.
Step 2: Identify Your Screens
-
In the Display Settings window, click “Identify.”
You’ll see numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) briefly appear on each screen.
✅ Tip: This helps you know which display number is your ActivPanel and which is your PC monitor.
Step 3: Check That Your Display Is Extended
Scroll down to “Multiple Displays.”
-
Make sure the setting says “Extend these displays.”
Step 4: Duplicate the Main Monitor and ActivPanel
In the same Display Settings window, select the two screens you want to duplicate (usually your main monitor and the ActivPanel).
From the “Multiple displays” drop-down menu, choose
“Duplicate desktop on 1 and 2” (or whichever two numbers match your setup).
This ensures your ActivPanel mirrors your main monitor, while any additional screens remain extended.
Step 5: Set the ActivPanel as the Main Display
Click on the ActivPanel screen icon in Display Settings (identified earlier).
-
Tick the box that says “Make this my main display.”
✅ Tip: If you’re teaching with a ActivPanel, setting it as your main display ensures that PowerPoint, Teams, and interactive tools open on the screen you’re controlling.
